I don’t know what it is about summer, but there’s something about those three short months that inspire nostalgia within me. Whether that’s remembering childhood summers in the 00’s, when KT Tunstall’s Suddenly I See and Gabriella Climi’s Sweet About Me was in the charts and school holidays seemed endless, or the hazy-edged memories hot summer days inspire, I always find myself looking back.
This probably isn’t helped by the fact my summer playlist is very often injected with 60’s and 70’s hits, including Summer in the City and the Beatles classic Here Comes the Sun. Naturally, this inspired me down the rabbit hole of spending too many hours on Pinterest, enjoying pictures of summer from some of my favourite decades for style. Here are a few I found:
